Our classic Camp Collar Shirt gets a unique update in a limited-edition collab with The Met. Todd’s reimagined the traditional silhouette with a boxier, slightly cropped fit and a silky tencel fabric, resulting in a shirt that’s meant to drape well and show off your trousers. The shorter length also serves to balance the bold print in a chic, modern way. The print itself is an adaptation of Vincent van Gogh’s (Dutch, 1853–1890)Sunflowers(1887), painted in Paris in the late summer of 1887 as part of a series of four sunflower still lifes. Paul Gauguin acquired Van Gogh’s two smaller studies, which held pride of place above the bed in his Paris apartment for several years. Todd has drawn attention to the original painting’s background, expanding the sky-blue brushstrokes to occupy most of the space on the shirt.

As part of its mission tocollect, study, conserve, and present significant works of art across time and cultures in order to connect all people to creativity, knowledge, ideas, and one another, The Metropolitan Museum of Art invited Toddto design a wearable, art-inspired collection. “The colors and brushstrokes of Van Gogh, Degas, and Manet feel incredibly modern, incredibly relevant,” says Todd of the pieces he chose to adapt for this unique collaboration.
